Abstract

Several studies have shown in recent years that information technology has the potential and capabilities to create or change the competitive advantage of business, which has led to the emergence of the concept of strategic information systems (SIS). An information system that can change the business' goals, processes, products, or environmental relations with a strategic approach to create competitive advantage or to reduce a competitive and threatening disadvantage is a strategic information system. The business also needs a model to use and benefit from these systems in order to be able to assess and evaluate their readiness to use these systems in order to meet the needs for this task. Based on this, a comprehensive and up-to-date model was developed to assess the business' readiness for implementing the strategic information system. The research was based on the structure and process of scientific research to explain the model.

According to the results of the research, it can be pointed out that the present study has presented a model consisting of a number of components for assessing and assessing organizational readiness for implementation of the strategic information system. The indicators of this model are made up of seventy five indicators in seven dimensions (strategic and environmental, management and decision making, human capital and financial, structural and process, technology and technical, informational and analytical, communication and cultural). In order to identify and explain the variables and indicators of the model, in the sample survey, a quantitative approach and survey strategy have been used.
