Despite the special position of the mentor in accelerators, there is no comprehensive description of the types, roles and methods of mentoring in accelerators and how they work. Therefore, the aim of the current research is to fill this gap in the literature by providing a comprehensive description and classification of mentors in accelerators, examining their roles, goals, characteristics and performance. The research has a qualitative approach and uses the content analysis method. Using purposeful and snowball sampling methods and conducting 14 interviews, theoretical saturation was achieved. The studied community included managers and mentors, managers and entrepreneurs in startup accelerators. In order to respect the credibility of the research, the criterion of researchers' sensitivity, selection of suitable participants, long-term involvement with the subject and approval of participants and reliability, recoding and peer review were used and confirmed. The findings of the research were obtained in several parts, which included a complete classification of mentors in accelerators, a comprehensive description of the types, roles and methods of mentoring in accelerators, and based on the characteristics of the mentor, the best method in terms of mentoring style and suitability of the mentor.
