Abstract

International tourism, by injecting foreign currencies into the national economy and strengthening the balance of payments, can increase the demand for various services and investment in tourism-related sectors and provide more economic growth for countries. For this purpose, the present study, using a panel data approach and the generalized moments method, has examined the interactive effect of globalization dimensions (economic, political, and social) and the quality of life index on international tourist attraction in two groups of selected developing and developed countries during the period 2012-2023. The estimated results showed that the individual effect of economic, political, and social globalization as well as the quality of life index on international tourist attraction in both groups of selected countries is positive and significant with different estimated coefficients. In addition, the interaction of globalization dimensions and the quality of life index on international tourist attraction in both groups of selected developing and developed countries has had a positive and significant effect. In a way that the estimated coefficients of their interaction effect are larger than the estimated coefficients of their individual effect
