The absorption of foreign technology through the channel of importing intermediate and capital goods is one of the ways to compensate for the shortcomings of domestic research and development and cover the technology gap, which can help realize a knowledge-based economy, increase competitiveness, and achieve innovation-driven economic growth. On the other hand, entrepreneurship, as a factor in increasing the competitiveness of talents, can facilitate the process of accepting and adapting to foreign technology and intensify the absorption of spillovers. Accordingly, the present study, using the panel data approach and the generalized moments method and using empirical data from 12 selected developing countries and 13 selected developed countries producing knowledge during the years 2014-2020, examined the interactive effect of entrepreneurship and talent competitiveness on the absorption of technology spillovers from the import channel. The estimated results showed that entrepreneurship and talent competitiveness indicators, including talent attraction, employment, growth, and retention, have a positive and significant effect on the absorption of technology spillovers in two groups of selected countries with different coefficients and at different levels of significance. In addition, entrepreneurship through the channel of improving talent competitiveness indicators has a positive and significant indirect effect on the absorption of technology spillovers in both groups of selected countries. Also, domestic research and development and information and communication technology development, which were included as control variables in the model, have a positive and significant effect on the absorption of technology spillovers in two groups of selected countries.
